With October being observed globally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, JN Money, the remittance arm of The Jamaica National Group, renewed its commitment this year to support the Jamaica Cancer Society’s (JCS) mission by raising funds for breast cancer awareness.

The effort aligns with the JN Group’s Power of Pink campaign, which, now in its seventh year, has been championing breast cancer awareness. As part of this year’s campaign, 100 women received free mammograms at the JCS on October 18, which was observed as World Mammography Day.

JN Money is raising funds across its US, UK, Canada, and Cayman markets to aid the JCS’s work in breast cancer awareness, cancer research, and to assist those affected by the disease. Locally, donations are also being accepted at select JN Money agents.

“We believe that everyone has a role to play in the fight against breast cancer. By providing convenient avenues for donations both locally and overseas, we’re empowering individuals to contribute to this critical cause,” said Cedrica Reid, marketing and sales manager, JN Money.

Ms Reid pointed out that the goal of the company is to create a culture of support that encourages persons to participate in this essential mission.

“Breast cancer impacts countless lives, affecting not only those diagnosed but also their families and friends, and even their community.  We understand the importance of raising awareness and encouraging early detection, as these are critical steps in the fight against this disease. Through our efforts, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected and promote a future where more lives are saved.”

“At JN Money, we want to empower women to take charge of their health. We want to amplify the message of the Jamaica Cancer Society, the importance of every woman performing monthly breast self-examinations and scheduling a mammogram annually. Early detection can significantly increase the chances of successful treatment. Don’t wait for symptoms to appear; make these screenings a priority. Taking these steps could save your life,” Ms Reid emphasised.
